As an original equipment manufacturer, RME’s core competencies include quality design and manufacture as well as global distribution, after-sales service and mill relining services; with the organisation supporting customers on all continents.
Integral to the ongoing development of the organisation's technology suite, the opportunity now exists for a Mechanical Engineer to support capital equipment sales through the selection, layout and design of high-quality mining-related equipment.
Reporting to the Senior Applications Engineer, in this role you take responsibility for ensuring that all aspects of proposal drawings, vendor data drawings and technical documents are efficiently completed to a high standard and within defined time periods. This will involve basic engineering design and component selection for each project.
Experience (2+ years) in a quality design engineering environment and demonstrated proficiency with a 3D modelling (preferably SolidWorks) application is required. Basic ability to write and edit MATLAB code for engineering calculations, basic knowledge of hydraulic principles and design, and concentrator plant (or mining technology) related experience would be a distinct advantage.
A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering is required.
