Role Summary/Purpose 

The Technical Operations Manager - A & NZ is responsible for leading the Services business efforts in field and technical efficiency, including minimising the customer events at each site through constant analysis and field interventions to rectify ongoing site challenges.

Key responsibilities include:
• Leading productivity projects across the Services organization, including facilitating cost & productivity workouts to:
o Prevent failures
o Improve Fix Right First-Time rates across all field operations 
• Lead part consumption initiatives like
o 2nd parts options 
o Develop and communication of best practice comparisons between regions to encourage a more standardised approach to Field efficiency.
• Leading Customer analysis and interventions, fully supported by the Field Operations and Region Support Engineers, to reduce:
o High parts usage 
o High downtime
o High field visits, including corrective repairs
• Lead the analysis of the Field Engineering capabilities and work with the Field Operations Leaders and Technical Training Team to coordinate the relevant technical and behavioural training required to improve both customer experience and technical efficiency
• Manage customer communications for high parts usage and field visit sites, including the appropriate engagement and monitoring tactics to retain IB and positively impact the customers experience with GE

Required Qualifications and Experience
• Significant experience leading Field Engineering or Service teams
• Minimum of 10 years management experience of diverse teams 
• Degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Commerce 
• Ability to facilitate workshops, with a broad range of people, and deliver a cohesive execution strategy of outcomes and manage via action plans and project management expertise 
• Experience interfacing with both internal and external customers in finding value added solutions to improvement opportunities. 
• Strong Customer negotiation and leadership skills
• Entrepreneurial thinker: having the view on the broader picture.

Preferred Experience/skills
• Solid proficiency in computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite products 
• Understanding of the Field Service Business and Delivery processes.
• Ability to solve complex problems using diverse range of tools and resources
• Able to maintain and tap into a global network of experts to expedite issue resolution
• Project Leadership experience.
• Knowledge of modality applications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Proven ability to lead teams.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
• Self-starter.
• Basic financial analysis abilities.
• Coaching skills.
• Accessible "after hours" and weekends for critical issues and coverage as necessary.
