About the opportunities
Jacobs are Alcoa’s Engineering Service Provider at Alcoa’s Kwinana and Pinjarra Refineries, where Jacobs provides Alcoa with engineering and project management services. The positions are site based, reporting to the Chief EIC Engineer and the Jacobs Site Electrical Lead. We are looking for engineering professionals with experience in electrical or instrumentation design and project management. Prior experience in a site based role within a design and execution team is desirable.
The position will be responsible for
- Electrical Engineering input into multiple small engineering projects.
- Development of electrical distribution designs including switchrooms, substations, motor control centres and field equipment, including instrumentation.
- Writing Scope of Work, Specifications and datasheets.
- Preparation of engineering reports and calculations including electrical protection, equipment sizing, cable sizing and system studies analysis.
- Vendor coordination to manage compliance with project specifications.
- Support for construction and commissioning.
- Support development of engineering / design effort hour estimates.
- Involvement and promotion of Safety in Design on engineering projects.
About you
- Engineering degree qualification.
- Experience in electrical and/or instrumentation engineering design and/or execution projects.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of the team.
- A willingness to learn and develop into new areas of electrical and instrumentation engineering.
- A focus on quality and performance.
- Experience with multidisciplinary design interfaces (particularly structural and mechanical) is desirable
