About the role
As the Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical solutions to a robust client group across the engineering, civil and construction sectors. You will cover a nationally established client base liaising with government bodies, civil consultancies and construction groups. You will also work closely with internal manufacturing and overseas supplier groups in maintaining project continuity and delivery timelines .
Duties
- Liaise with clients in the civil, engineering and construction sectors to gain an understanding of present and upcoming infrastructure projects
- Meet clients on site to evaluate product requirements and application
- Work closely with local internal and overseas customer support and business groups and suppliers
- Review, prepare and deliver tenders and bids, negotiate price and delivery dates
- Maintain an understanding of project timelines providing transparent communication on project progression
- Have a sense of urgency and the ability to multi-task and manage several projects at any one time
- Have the ability to be nimble in what is a hotly contested market sector
Skills and attributes
- Have Degree background in civil, construction or mechanical infrastructure design
- Be comfortable with technical discussions with engineering and consultancy groups
- Have an understanding of rubber sealing, engineered rubber dampers, anti-vibration systems, acoustics or elastomeric rubber bridge bearings
- Be a solutions-based individual, with the ability to identify new engineering opportunities with existing and potential new clients
- Have the ability to develop and maintain strong commercial customer relationships
- Be thorough with tender reviews and their commercial implications
