We seek an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee a small team of tradespeople maintaining the mine dewatering system and the newly installed Paste Aggregate Fill (PAF) plant in the underground operation.
You will facilitate the health and safety of yourself and others by adhering to the St Barbara Critical Risk Control Standards, communicating well while maintaining a high standard for both safety and housekeeping.
You will be accountable for supervising the Team to:
- complete both planned and unplanned work on PAF, mine de-watering systems and a variety of other underground mining infrastructure to ensure availability and reliability targets are met
- provide cost effective maintenance and contribute to the development of annual budgets
- complete maintenance activities in a safe and environmentally sustainable manner
- contribute to problem solving and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives undertaken by the Leonora Mining Maintenance Team
- ensure all reporting for the underground Maintenance Team at Leonora Operations is completed to a high standard and statutory requirements are met
You will gain:

You will have:
- a proven track record for overseeing best practice maintenance in an underground environment
- experience with underground pumping including crushing plants, apron feeders and conveyor belt systems
- a Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- a current unencumbered Australian Driver’s Licence
- an ability to produce a National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months) for site access purposes

You will be a strong communicator who can support the Team to work on multiple tasks and goals to meet operational deadlines.
This role is a full time, permanent role offered on a 4 day on/3 day off, 8 day on/6 day off roster FIFO from Perth, DIDO from Kalgoorlie or Residential Leonora.
Gwalia is Australia’s deepest trucking gold mine with expansion plans to enable mining to advance more than 2km below the surface.
