About the role:
We currently have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to provide a diverse range of project engineering services to our Energy Solutions and Major Projects business areas, including commissioning support, site support and procurement support.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Project and Consulting Engineering, this role is responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of high quality, efficient and cost effective design and project engineering services to support the delivery of projects for internal and external clients through proactive design management of complex multi-disciplinary projects.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Ensuring design outcomes meet scope and that quality levels are maintained through project lifecycle
- Proactively managing design project timeline, Report fortnightly on progress status, maintain program and tracking to milestone dates and ensuring corrective action is taken as needed.
- Proactively managing project costs through cost tracking tools, variation and scope change management.
- Liaise with Business Development or Planning to develop design scope of works
- Prepare design offer document in accordance with scope, contractual requirements and in conjunction with delivery partner
- Providing assistance to delivery and/or commissioning group during the commissioning stage.
- Liaise between design, construction and commissioning teams during project lifecycle
- Assist with material procurement, site supervision and client management.
- Provides assistance with continuous improvement in design document management systems.
Required skills and experience:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
- Project Management Qualification (Desirable)
- Knowledge of the electricity distribution, sub-transmission, transmission and/or infrastructure industry with a working knowledge of Powercor’s technical standards, construction practices, estimating tools
- Proven ability to apply project management principles, preferably in an electrical transmission and/or infrastructure environment.
- Knowledge of bid and business development and project scoping processes.
