BOQ / Bill of Materials Estimator - Residential Home Builder

 
Our client are a very successful Residential Home Builder. who operate across many sectors - Custom Homes, Medium Density and 1st / 2nd / Investor Markets. The need has arisen to supplement their Estimating Team with an experienced BOQ Estimator / Bill of Materials Estimator,  where you will be reporting directly to the Group Estimating & Procurement Manager.
 
Ideal Experience:

• 2-3 years experience independently creating full BOQ’s for sales pricing and estimating team to work off.
• Previous sales estimating experience would be an advantage.
• Excellent understanding of working drawings, details and engineering.
• Very strong Microsoft and builder’s software knowledge.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Databuild and Framework is an advantage.
• An ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Able to work as part of a team and to agreed timelines
• High level of communication skills – both written and verbal
• Reliable with a solid work ethic, great communication skills and ability complete tasks autonomously within set time frames.

 
Some of the tasks the successful candidate will be responsible for are;

• Creating full base BOQ’s from master documentation for accurate base house pricing.
• Ongoing maintenance and improvements to existing BOQ’s.
• Create ordering recipes, mini-bills and various other items to assist the estimating team.
• Occasional sales estimating to assist the sales team.
• Cost analysis on new and existing designs.
• Liaising with construction team on BOQ changes and improvements.
• Communicating common errors and/or inaccurate information back to the required department(s)
