As Permit Officer, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the permitting management systems and controls to support the effective execution of the project.

Your role is, but not limited to the following:

  • Ensuring implementation and compliance of the Permit to Work rules.
  • Leading the statutory permitting approvals process.
  • Coordinating and participating in Work Permit co-ordination meetings.
  • Auditing and ensuring compliance of the Permit to Work procedure.
  • Managing all Permit aspects from completion quality checks to ensuring all necessary signatures.
  • Operating the Permit Office to reflect and display the status of all permitted work and isolations.
  • Making sure the Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPs) is not compromised.
  • Providing additional HSE duties where required.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Permitting Officer role with experience in an EPCM, mining or construction environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with team members.
  • Ability to work through processes with a methodical approach concurrently with attention to detail.
  • Be a self-starter whom thrives on taking ownership of their role whom has the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to respond to changing priorities in a positive manner, with excellent time management skills.
  • Confidence in dealing with complex issues and ability to problem solve issues in a logical manner based on facts.
