Environmental Representative required for Abrasive Blasting & Painting Company located in the Hawkesbury area (Mulgrave)
The role:
As an industrial protective coatings company we require an Environmental Representative to support numerous projects around NSW by providing the necessary personnel with environmental leadership and advice in accordance with Environmental Regulations including legislations, principal’s requirements and our organisations Environmental Management System. This role will be accountable for assessing and managing possible environmental risks on site and maintaining waste management regulations and practices, both on site and in our yard. Report writing is a key aspect to this role and so we are looking for someone who can analyse and present information in a clear and concise manner.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking someone who can demonstrate a pro-active, consultative and confident approach to environmental activities, and who can undertake the following responsibilities:
- Compliance with Environmental Management Systems requirements
- Develop, implement, review and maintain Environmental policies and procedures
- Conduct Internal Environmental inspections and audits
- Coordinate and participate in external Environmental audits
- Environmental Tender Submission/Response
- Prepare and maintain project and site-specific Environmental documentation
- Conduct and report environmental sampling
- Pre and post construction reports
- Waste disposal and tracking requirements
- Reporting and/or notification to relevant third parties and authorities of environmental incidents
Requirements:
This role will require someone who preferably has previous experience within the construction industry and has a strong understanding of associated compliance with environmental legislation, regulations, standards and codes of practice.
Relevant qualifications in environmental management, environmental science, environmental engineering or equivalent will be beneficial.
A key aspect to this role is report writing therefore, excellent writing skills and computer skills are required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are also a must to ensure professional interactions with all levels of internal (Managing Director, Office Manager, Project Managers/Site Supervisors & peers) and external (Principals and external agencies) stakeholders.
