About the role
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the position of Senior Safety Manager (Rail), to join us in Brisbane, QLD.
Ideally you will already be based in Brisbane or willing to relocate to Brisbane, however we would consider an arrangement whereby you commute to Brisbane from an interstate location for a fixed period of time.
This is a permanent, full-time vacancy, which offers excellent career prospects with a privately-owned, people-oriented, tier 1 constructor, and an international engineering enterprise. Our region is growing, and this is a great opportunity to grow with us.
Key responsibilities
As Senior Safety Manager, you will lead and promote a positive safety culture based on our Next Gear initiative.
You will lead a team, provide mentoring, coaching and guidance, advice on Safety issues, and identify and facilitate training requirements.
You will ensure compliance with Laing O’Rourke systems and processes, coordinate supply chain engagement activities, conduct audits and investigations, and oversee record management and reporting.
You will have
Ideally you will bring 10+ years’ experience in Safety, with an extensive background in delivering infrastructure projects, and experience and knowledge in Rail Safety. Experience in working on Bids would be beneficial.
You will have the ability to lead a team, and have high-level skills in safety leadership, relationship-building and communication.
You will offer skills in Auditing, Reporting and Risk Management and strong knowledge of Safety legislation.
You will bring an appreciation and interest in applying a different safety approach, and actively explore initiatives which boost the capacity of people and organisations to drive a strong safety culture.
