Our client specialises in Concrete Construction on Commercial and Civil projects across Queensland, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. They are an established business, with decades of experience working in concrete construction.  They have a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

 

This role is responsible for estimating projects, on time and in line with customer requirements and project briefs/specifications.

 

The role will involve the following responsibilities:

 

  • Daily estimating duties for all approved tenders
  • Monitor and report on tender opportunities and seek approval direction from Operations and Directors as to which tenders will have resources applied
  • Provide support to Project teams with the following duties;

o    Provide site budgets and procurement/construction guidelines

o    Assist with construction methodologies to ensure compliance with the intended/estimated construction process

o    Provide pricing and claim support for contracted works and variations

o    Assist with progress claim preparation

  • Input daily and weekly site data into Benchmark; man hours, materials procured and works completed
  • Maintain Benchmark project tacking sheets and assist with reporting as required
  • Assist Project managers with schedule, program and resource preparation
  • Other reasonable tasks as required to fulfil the role and within the normal operating requirements of the business
  • Travel away from home, may be required from time to time

 


Requirements

  • Possess proven experience estimating for large scale civil construction and infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a dynamic contracting service orientated environment
  • Ability to relate to well with others, from diverse backgrounds and personalities
  • Thoroughness and high attention to detail
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Effective use of MS Office suite, MS Project and Benchmark estimating software
  • Drivers licence

 

The qualifications required for the role;

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or extensive industry experience
  • Current WH&S Certification highly regarded
