Position
You will be a self-motivated, enthusiastic, analytical professional looking to join our growing team. You will be an excellent communicator at all levels and have the ability to interpret and effectively communicate data in a meaningful way.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will work within the sales division to ensure the provision of accurate, competitive estimates for project budget costs and schedules in support of the company’s sales and project strategy targets.
Responsibilities
- Development of conceptual and budgetary estimates for assigned projects
- Interface, liaise and support Project Development Managers & Analysts with tender bids/proposals
- Analyze historical project data
- Review and critique designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggest alternative solutions where appropriate
- Implement policies and procedures defined in project estimating methods
- Develop and maintain consistent processes and procedures leading to efficiency improvements
- Provide technical direction and guidance regarding estimate approach, assumptions/qualifications, and resolution of estimate issues
- Keep costing sheet templates and databases updated
- Review quote requirements and work with design team to define engineering requirements
- Estimate quantities and obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
- Conduct investigative analysis and communicate benefits and potential design/estimating efficiency improvements
Position Requirements
- Excellent time management skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
- Advanced Excel knowledge for estimating
- Advanced communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate the advantages and disadvantages of various design options
- Self-starter with the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
- Minimum of 1-2 years of proven estimating experience is advantageous
