Eureka Landscapes is a multi-award winning commercial landscape contracting company, established in 1980, and currently employing over 230 full time staff on various projects throughout Queensland.

We are seeking an experienced Health Safety Environment (HSE) & Quality Assurance (QA) professional to be based in Sunshine Coast and North Brisbane to deliver upon our vision to be incident and injury free whilst providing a positive impact upon the environment.

This role is central to driving a unified and proactive culture throughout the Eureka Landscapes and our subsidiary companies including the supply chain and sub-contractors.

Responsible for the ongoing implementation, auditing and continued improvement of our systems and processes and monitoring compliance the successful applicant will provide our Senior Leadership Team with expert knowledge and advise and will work in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders onsite and in the office environment.

The successful applicant will have experience in EHS and QA within a commercial landscaping or construction environment on large scale projects coupled with the relevant tertiary qualifications.

Duties include:

  • Driving a safe work environment

  • Coaching constructively for HS&E performance improvement across all levels of the company

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth WHS and Environmental Legislation, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice

  • Identifying HSE risks associated with the construction and maintenance processes

  • Conducting risk assessments and maintaining a risk register

  • Developing safe work and environmental practices to mitigate risk

  • Developing, monitoring, reviewing and updating all HSE Mgt System Policies, Procedures, Forms and Guidelines including HSE Management Plans,Environmental Management Plans, Safe Work Method Statements and Safe Work Instructions,

  • Investigating all hazards, workplace near misses and incidents/injuries which have been reported and taking prompt remedial action

  • Preparing and issuing Safety Alerts

  • Identifying, developing and implementing trends and opportunities for improvement

  • Maintaining LTI and Incident Report Summary reports

  • Conducting monthly site inspections and annual HSE Mgt System audits

  • Sub-Contractor management

  • Completing pre-qualification documentation

  • Developing and implementing a quality assurance system to meet AS/NSZ 4801:2001

  • Attending Principal Contractor safety meetings

  • Facilitating quarterly HSE Representative Committee Meetings

  • Facilitating internal Training programs including but not limited to:

    • Corporate Induction

    • HSE Management System

    • Manual Handling

    • Cleaning, Maintenance and Repair

    • Hazard Identification & Risk Management

  • Co-ordinating First Aid Training

  • Testing and tagging of all electrical equipment

Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years commercial landscaping or construction experience

  • Minimum 3 years HS&E system implementation experience

  • Certificate IV Occupational Health and Safety

  • Certificate IV Training and Workplace Assessment

  • OHS General Construction/Safety Awareness Training Induction Card (White Card)

  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate including CPR

  • Current Qld Driver's License

  • Certificate III or IV Landscape (Construction) (desirable)

  • Internal Auditing, Incident Investigation and Fire Safety Advisor qualifications (desirable)

  • Inspecting and testing electrical equipment (desirable)

  • High level knowledge of HS&E legislation, regulations and codes of practice

  • High level computer skills including Microsoft office suite of programs

  • High level administration skills

  • Professional attitude & exceptional communication skills
