The Position:
Our client is in search of an experienced Construction Design Manager for their Newcastle offices to strengthen their existing design team on some exciting and refreshing upcoming projects.
The right candidate will be responsible for:
- Monitor and manage the performance of external consultants.
- Prepare design budgets and time schedules.
- Co-ordinate design activities to ensure the achievement of quality, completion and design budget objectives.
- Manage the process of milestone design reviews including ensuring that client sign-off is achieved and recorded at appropriate stages.
- Ensure that design change control processes are effective.
- Ensure a traceable record is maintained of all key design decisions including justification and approvals.
- Assisting in the conversion of project opportunities
- Liaising with clients to develop design briefs in accordance with cost plans
- Managing designs in accordance with cost plans and construction programmes
- Monitoring design quality throughout the construction process
Experience Required:
- At least 5 years proven experience with mid or top tier head contractors
- Relevant building and tertiary qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Computer literacy and experience with reporting systems
- Sound leadership skills and solid problem solving abilities
- An energetic and dynamic approach to Construction
- Sound knowledge of OH&S and IR matters
