About the company:
Our client, a fast-growing residential construction company is looking for a young, dynamic and enthusiastic Construction Labourer/Site Assistant to start with them on their prestigious residential multi-unit development projects in Melbourne. About the role:
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the roles include assisting and supporting site operations, OHS adherence, inductions & audits, and coordinating with site staff. The projects are Multi-Unit Residential Developments and Townhouses. You will be based on one site for the entirety of the project and will be required to support construction activities & site operations in the absence of the Construction Manager.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee construction activities against the project schedule
- OH&S audits, safe working method checks
- Hazard identification, cleanliness and precautions on site
- Prepare incident reports, if any
- Coordinate and conduct inductions for tradespeople and subcontractors on site
- Check project schedule and mark job completion
- Act as a conduit on-site between the Construction Manager & site staff
- Preparing any other site reports, if required and supply it to the construction manager.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 6 months to 1-year experience working on a construction site
- Certificate IV or a Diploma holder in Construction or any trades qualification preferable
- White Card holder
- Strong communication skills
- Basic understanding of OHS methods & audits on site
- Basic understanding of site or project operations
- Attention to details, committed and task-oriented.
