About the company:
Our client, a fast-growing residential construction company, is looking for a young, dynamic and enthusiastic OH&S Labourer to start with them on their prestigious residential multi-unit development projects in Melbourne. They have grown organically and got good projects in the pipeline. An OH&S Labourer will possess a good understanding of OH&S and safe working methods on site. You may come from any trades background, worked at any construction site for a short time, MUST BE residential construction; where you have gone through OH&S methods and audits on site.
About the role:
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the role include assisting and supporting OHS adherence, inductions & audits. Coordinating with site staff on safety on a high-volume construction site. The projects are Multi-Unit Residential Developments and Townhouses. You will be based on one site for the entirety and requires to support and handle construction safety activities in the absence of Construction Manager.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Overseeing OH&S audits, safe working method checks
- Hazard identification, cleanliness and precautions on site
- Monitor safety adherence on site
- Prepare incident reports and follow safety checklists
- Coordinate and conduct safety inductions for tradies and subcontractors on site
- Act as a conduit on-site for safety between a Construction Manager & site staff
- Preparing any other site safety reports, if required.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 6 months to 1-year experience on a construction site
- Certificate IV or a diploma holder in construction or any trades qualification
- White Card holder
- Strong communication skills
- Basic understanding of OHS methods & audits on site
- Basic understanding of safety assurance on site
- Attention to details, committed and task-oriented.
