Your new company
This forward thinking and respected Australian one of a kind mechanical doors company is looking for an Estimator to join their commercial team of skilled professionals in a thriving market.
Due to organic company growth and exciting new commercial projects, the Director seeks a new Estimator to take the place of the recently retired Senior Estimator.
Building each door from scratch in their SE based factory and winning projects with Tier 1& 2 builders such a Pro Build and Multiplex, you would be the face of the company for both subcontractors and clients for the face of tendering. Initially working under the GM and then gaining full autonomy once you are comfortable in the role.
Your new role
A unique opportunity has arisen for an aspiring/experienced estimator who seeks a new challenge.
Working closely with the Director, you will be responsible for tendering on projects, looking at costing of labour and materials, attending post tender meetings, assisting with price negotiation from suppliers and interpret and accurately take-off construction drawings and specifications.
You will also be required to have some operational responsibility on site projects responsible for maintaining and developing client relationships. You will be the point of contact for negotiation and will be comfortable with client facing responsibilities.
What you'll need to succeed
As an estimator you will be a crucial representative of the company. High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word documents is essential, coupled with excellent abilities to interpret designs and providing excellent customer services. Bid Contender and Aconex would also be beneficial.
Demonstrating great presentation and communication skills as well as possessing organisational and time management is also a pre-requisite of this position.
This role is ideally suited to someone who has been working in the commercial doors or the construction industry, with some basic to intermediate exposure to estimating. A background in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous due to the nature of the product.
