Principal Operations - Non Process Infrastructure

We are seeking a highly-motivated Principal Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) Operations to join our high-performing BMC operations in Moranbah.  Reporting to the Manager Integrated Operations, this is a highly autonomous role who is primarily responsible for managing key non-process infrastructure contracts for BMC’s Poitrel and South Walker Creek mine sites in North Queensland.

In this role you will:

• Own and manage the contracts for key non-process infrastructure that supports our BMC sites, including our accommodation, transport, and facilities maintenance and cleaning contracts;
• Establish and maintain strong constructive relationships with our external contract partners and internal functions;
• Drive leadership in safety, risk management, incident management and reporting;
• Develop contracting and commercial strategies in order to initiate, negotiate, and execute agreements; and
• Manage a small team responsible for coordinating accommodation, bussing, and flights.

• Contract and contractor management with strong commercial acumen;
• Stakeholder management with strong influencing and negotiation skills;
• Self-motivated with the ability to work flexibly and autonomously, and be willing to travel between the two mine sites and head office as required;
• Experience using large ERP systems, ideally SAP, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills; and
• A background in contracts management, risk management, operations management, supply, or legal will be looked upon favourably.
