The Bega Valley Shire is located at the south-eastern corner of New South Wales, half way between Australia’s two largest cities Sydney and Melbourne and just over two hours’ drive from the nation’s capital Canberra.

THE ROLE

Assets & Operations have been successful in attaining funding for the delivery of several key transport, waste and water infrastructure projects across the Shire and are looking for a skilled Project Manager to plan, procure and deliver these projects.

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking project planning and scoping based upon Assets & Operations business needs and strategic objectives.
  • Preparing project briefs and tender documentation calling for preliminary design, concept design, detailed design, and/or construction services.
  • Reviewing and ensure compliance of inspection test plan and develop quality assurance standards and procedures.
  • Inspecting works carried out by contractors and the Works Team to ensure compliance with design and specifications.
  • Liaising with internal QA representatives to audit and inspect construction works at all significant stages.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager that has a background in a consulting, client side and/or Council environment. You will be able to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels while maintaining a structured and professional approach to work practice. You will have the following qualification and skills to be considered for this position:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or project/contractor management
  • Proven experience in project management with focus on infrastructure and civil works projects.
  • Experience in delivering capital works across the full project life cycle.
  • Experience in the interpretation of detailed engineering plans, specification and quality systems.

This is fixed term contract position (3 years) working 35 hours per week. Remuneration is $1764.80 per week as per the Local Government (State) Award 2017, plus 9.5 % employer superannuation contribution.

 

This role is subject to a 3.5% salary loading with respect to the Civil Liability Act 2002.
