Our client is seeking a “Hands-on” GM for this successful, established, privately owned business. Its game-changing product has delivered prestigious, large, long term customers around the country.
Based in Melbourne, the national scope for the new GM is to build on the excellent reputation, to ensure the ongoing maintenance contracts are delivered, to discuss and present the service to new parties and to lead a small team of employees and sub-contractors.
In addition, the ability to quote, plan, lead and run maintenance programs and short term projects involving subcontractors, large machinery, with local and imported materials will be a key competency of this role.
Roles and responsibilities will include:
- Project management and leadership of permanent, casual staff and sub-contractors
- Scoping & tendering projects & developing tender budgets
- Preparing job sheets, work schedules, quotations and purchase orders from templates;
- Planning & scheduling of works, labour & equipment
- Attending sites, assessing quality of works to ensure a high standard is achieved;
- Purchasing & negotiation of prices of materials and equipment
Skills and Experience
Ideally, you will be a proactive, hands on General Manager/Project Mgr with a working knowledge of Grounds Maintenance or associated industries and a track record in quoting, estimating on outdoor solutions.
Have the ability to work autonomously and be a flexible, team player with a strong customer focus
Strong leadership and excellent people skills.
Have strong communication skills both written and verbal
Have a track record where you had to effectively plan and prioritise multiple projects and work requirements to meet deadlines;
Good computer literacy, especially with email and microsoft word/excel;
