The Company
 
My client are a well-established contract home builder, established back in 1977, employing over 90 staff, currently delivering 400+ homes per year. They pride themselves in being a stable business who have successfully delivered the same level of homes over the last 8-10 years through changing market conditions.
 
The Role

Great opportunity for a Trainee Production Estimator. You will work as part of a close-knit team of 6 reporting to the Estimating Manager. Office based working Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.
 
You will receive full training and mentoring to grow and develop into a Production Estimator.
 
You will support the existing team across sales and production, learning the company processes and procedures, offering admin support to produce Bill of Quantities (BOQ). You will also have involvement once confident in:
 

• Liaising with staff, suppliers and subcontractors
• Checking contract plans
• Liaising with Construction Supervisors and Managers
• Preparing and issuing purchase orders
• Prepare inventory items and assemblies in estimating package for common items
• Maintaining all queries with estimated jobs and amending orders where required

Essential Skills & Experience
 

• Local Sydney experience is ESSENTIAL
• Trade background is ESSENTIAL
• Exposure working in a construction environment
• An aspiring Production Estimator, keen to work and learn
• A clear, confident communicator, who is calm under pressure and offering exceptional detail
• Highly organised and a capable problem-solver who can consult to get the right solution
• Comfortable around computers
• Able to demonstrate tenacity, focus and drive
