Reporting directly to the National Sales Manager, the Internal Sales Consultant will provide information to existing and prospective customer requests, either from on-line channels or by phone in a prompt and accurate manner, exceeding their service expectations.
About the role
Supporting an experienced Account Manager team, the Internal Sales Consultant will provide sales support in a timely and accurate manner, build and maintain relationships with existing customers and develop opportunities with new customers. The position will manage internal sales customers to ensure sales targets are being achieved in this well established and respected market-leading brand.
The successful candidate will join a highly capable sales team and will be required to carry out the following responsibilities:
- Provide pricing and technical product information to customers
- Follow up on customer enquiries as requested by the Account Managers and share qualified sales leads with them
- Prepare sales quotes and organise the distribution of samples for customers
- Ensure that sales enquiries and opportunities are recorded on SAP and that all sales related data is maintained in an accurate and timely fashion
- Participate and attend trade shows / exhibitions and engage with potential customers
Success in this role will require you to have proven experience in Internal Sales with the possibility of also having had some direct sales experience. You are likely to bring the following experience and attributes to the role:
- Strong written, verbal and analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Above average phone communication skills
- Previous experience of SAP or similar business systems and a proficiency with MS Office
- An ability to "think outside the box" with a proactive and forward-thinking mindset
- A proven ability to identify customer needs coupled with excellent customer service skills
- A positive team mindset and a flexible can-do attitude.
