Our client is a leading global banking player with a robust balance sheet and appetite for growth.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified finance professional to join the team in this high-profile role on a permanent basis in Sydney.

Reporting into the Head of Accounting Policy you will assist in the establishment of processes that lead to a best practice policy function.

Responsibilities:

• Updating group accounting policies
• Accounting policy advice on transactions (including acquisitions, disposals) and general issues
• Assessing the impact of new Accounting standards and assisting in their implementation for the Group
• Building relationships with senior finance and risk personnel
• Ensuring compliant disclosures for ASX
• Drafting Group Finance board papers
• Assisting in the completion of comment letters to standard setters
• Liaison with external auditors, industry contacts, standard setters and regulators

Expectations:

• CA/CPA qualified
• Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting Degree
• 8 – 10 years experience within a financial institution or Big 4 Audit firm focusing on Banking clients
• Strong accounting policy experience and some regulatory experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
