SMBC is a major international bank, and the Australian operation has enjoyed strong revenue and asset growth with corporate and institutional clients. An opportunity currently exists for an experienced candidate to join the Japanese Corporate Banking team as an Analyst/Senior Analyst.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Japanese Corporate Banking, this position will be responsible for the relationship management of a portfolio of Japanese Corporate clients.
In addition, this position will be responsible for supporting the preparation of credit applications for new and existing clients, producing weekly reports for management and collecting necessary data and industry information to support deals and identify risks. Demonstrating a keen eye for detail, you’ll have a thorough understanding of financial analysis and good awareness of corporate products.
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in a corporate banking environment working in an Analyst/Senior Analyst or equivalent role
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
- Demonstrated relationship management skills in managing a portfolio of corporate clients
- Good understanding of credit processes, including preparation of credit applications
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Advanced verbal and written Japanese language skills
