An exciting opportunity has arisen for a protein and oil merchant to join an established commodity business. Working with an established supply of product, you will focus on working closely with the Commercial Manager to develop and review new geographical markets and customers. You will work closely with the internal logistics, finance and wider Merchandising group to ensure that the companies trading activities and relationships exceed expectations of new and existing buyers and suppliers.
You will be responsible for developing and executing merchandising strategies across a number of commodities based on current Australian and global market conditions, whilst working with the internal team to produce accurate position reporting of commodities on a daily and weekly basis. You will be exposed to the wider supply chain process, with an overview allowing you to continually update customers and suppliers with relevant market issues.
The ideal candidate will be looking to develop/start their career in a commodity trading environment, with an opportunity to work with a broad sector of the Australian Agribusiness market. You will have relevant qualifications in Economics/Agricultural Business, and ideally have previous experience in a commodity trading house in a logistics/junior trading role. You will be extremely driven and focused on achieving results, whilst being a strong team person. You will be able to lead from the front and be willing and capable of communicating effectively at all levels within the industry.
