The Internal Audit division provides independent assurance and advice to the Board Audit Committee, Board Risk Committee, executive management and other relevant stakeholders.
Internal Audit (IA) analytics brings together tools, skills and processes for the exploration, evaluation and investigation of business, financial and operational risks and performance.
The Role
The role of Audit Analytics Manager is to work collaboratively with Suncorp’s IA team to support and uplift IA delivery using Data Analytics (DA) tools and techniques.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide input into the development of Data Analytics (DA) scope aligned with key audit risks and controls i.e. defining the specifics in relation to data extracts, profiling and test procedures
- Deliver the end-to-end delivery of the DA scope for individual Internal Audits and ad hoc reviews in accordance with the Suncorp Audit Methodology
- Review/Quality Assurance of DA work prior to final IA reporting (self and peers)
- Prepare data visualisations/dashboards for the Audit team and/or the Business
- Manage multiple (often concurrent) Internal Audits
- Drive the development and implementation of the IADA test library of standardised test procedures
- Interface with business, data and risk stakeholders to understand risk measures to build and establish continuous monitoring frameworks
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification in one or more of the following fields: Analytics, Mathematics, Business, IT or Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a data centric role (exceptional candidates with less will be considered)
- A passion for data analysis and problem solving
- Experience in one or more of the following programming languages / databases: SQL Server / Netezza, Python, R, MS Visual Basic in addition to advanced MS Excel
- Data visualisation experience in Tableau or other similar tools such as Qlikview or PowerBI
- Extensive hands-on data analysis experience: data extraction, cleansing and manipulation with large data sets from disparate sources
- Strong communication and professional skills, including being able to liaise with both technical and business stakeholders
- The ability to translate stakeholder needs into data analytics scope
- Strong planning, organisation, delivery and people management skills.
