The Wealth Management arm of a leading domestic Australian Bank is currently recruiting for a Senior Manager to join the Core Compliance team to focus specifically on Monitoring, Policy and Training.
Reporting into the Executive Manager for Core Compliance this role will give exposure to both the wealth business and the wider Group Compliance team. It’s an opportunity for someone to really embed policy, driving it to the Business Managers by taking an active role in training. As a business the Risk and Compliance team work seamlessly together, therefore someone who has the capacity to work in an integrated Risk & Compliance role will thrive.

Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Working alongside stakeholders across the organisation to continuously develop and review, conducting deep dives into specific areas of Board concern.
  • Assist in developing an effective testing and monitoring process for the Core Compliance team
  • Executing and embedding policy into business units by building relationships with Business Managers
  • Liaising with the wider business to ensure an integrated framework
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of the wealth business, the risks associated and advise on areas of monitoring
  • Continuously look to strengthen the reporting plan

Required experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance, Accounting or similar
  • 5+ years financial services industry, preferably in a Monitoring or Assurance role
  • Experience in assuring regulatory compliance at an operational and business level
  • Experience of Compliance Frameworks, their development and implementation
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Sound knowledge of legislation, regulation and Codes
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to analyse legislation
