About the business and the role

My client is a high-performing global Investment Bank with a great reputation and high-profile client list. Due to growth, their Melbourne team are looking to hire an experienced M&A Analyst to help them execute on a strong pipeline of deals.

You will get exposure to a wide range of high-profile domestic and international transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, takeovers, divestments and capital raisings.

Your role will be varied and will include company and sector research, building financial models, conducting due diligence and managing datarooms as well as the preparation of pitch materials.

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Preparing, building and explaining financial models
• Performing business due diligence
• Preparing presentations, marketing pitches and other materials to key stakeholders
• Valuation analysis of companies
• Industry and company analysis.
• Liaising with external stakeholders - lawyers, private equity firms etc

Skills and experience

• You will have 1-3 years experience in M&A/Corporate Finance, either from a high-performing boutique advisory firm, bulge bracket or M&A team at an accounting firm
• You will have worked on mid-market and/or large transactions
• Top marks from a Bachelor of Business, Commerce, Law degree or similar.
• Advanced financial modeling skills
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
• A passion for business and finance
• Strong commercial acumen and work ethic
