Role
Based in Abbotsford the General Manager will work with the Computershare Investor Services (CIS) Managing Director and other client facing colleagues to execute various initiatives and contribute to the success of CIS.
The General Manager will take ownership, define and implement the CIS Retail Focused Clients segment strategy aimed at protecting and growing our existing client portfolio whilst at the same time adding new revenue by driving segmentation deeper.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Maximize interactions with our clients and ensure retention of clients
• Win new clients via contested corporate activity and from competitors 
• Sell the value of the specialized services Computershare offers 
• Develop relationships with Intermediaries 
• Lead, motivate and provide clarity and direction to ensure we have energized staff whose individual success is 
• aligned to the success of both the Retail Focused Clients Segment as well as the CIS business overall 
• Maintaining an inclusive and diverse workplace, maximizing contributions of all employees and developing strengths in all team members

To ensure your success in this role you will bring:

• Demonstrated people leadership, management and coaching a large team to achieve its objectives
• Experience within financial services such a broking, investment banking, funds management
• Proven ability to engage and build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders including CEO's
• Experience setting and adjusting business strategy / developing a long term vision
• Demonstrated experience in winning new business and retention of relationship with clients
• Proven understanding of the financial services market / industry
• Experience in financial reporting inclusive of tracking and adjusting budgets / running a profit and loss statement
• Highly developed business acumen and organisational and planning capabilities

Desired experience:

• Proven risk awareness, ensuring compliance to procedures and regulatory requirements, development of process to minimise risk
• Exposure to the securities industry, particularly registry
• Familiar with Computershare products and services
• Expertise leading teams in different geographic locations
