The Business Banker is a key sales role, specialising in the small to medium enterprise (SME) business segment. Reporting to the State Manager, Connect Now – SME Banking, the Business Banker is dedicated to achieving consistent portfolio optimisation through delighting customers.
 
This demands customer retention as well as initiating pro-active contact to understand business needs and recommend appropriate solutions. In order to do this, the Business Banker is an expert across the full spectrum of SME banking needs, including business and consumer, cash flow, transactional, lending and payments.
 
In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:-
  • Dedicated to achieving portfolio retention and growth through utilising a proactive customer contact strategy to maximise share of wallet and deepen relationships;
  • Develops and implements regular contact plans for top SME customers;
  • Expert at providing the full financial needs of SME customers across deposits, lending, wealth (Business and Consumer)
  • Proficient in conducting needs based conversations across the full spectrum of SME banking needs
  • Acts commercially and knows how to build relationships through a genuine interest in SME businesses including their owners/managers/people
  • Partners with and supports the State Manager, Connect Now by providing input into the business plan through an in depth knowledge of the SME market
 
To be considered for this role, you must have a strong mix of the following skills/experience:- 
  • Minimum 3 years business lending experience with personal sales responsibility
  • Recognised as a subject matter expert, and holds current accreditation for, industry specific lending
  • Experience in successfully managing and growing a portfolio of SME business clients of up to 150
  • Strong team player and demonstrated ability to work closely with business partners
  • Strong systems and process knowledge
