About the opportunity

Deloitte are looking for a Business Finance Consultant to assist the Business Finance Leader and/or Business Finance Manager(s) to review the financial performance of the Business, provide analysis on factors affecting performance and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, you will also contribute to the development of Business strategic initiatives, financial policies and procedures and financial objectives.

About the work

You will be:

• Preparing detailed analysis of weekly and monthly results.
• Analysing performance against financial plan, forecast and other relevant metrics. Provision of meaningful, actionable management reporting in a timely manner.
• Developing and maintaining constructive and trusted relationships with key stakeholders within the Finance team and Business as appropriate.
• Contributing to the strategic support the Finance Team is providing for the Business and become involved in ad hoc projects
• Reviewing forecasts in detail, identify issues and proactively escalate
• Contributing to the development of a detailed planning schedule and process to assist Business leadership
• Providing support to other teams as required to ensure that National Finance as a whole deliver the appropriate level of service to the business
• Contributing to the development of Business strategic initiatives. Demonstrate strong understanding of the Business, financial implications of issues, and Deloitte and its processes

About you

You will be able to leverage your prior experience and commercial acumen to provide value-add support to the Business Finance Leader and Business Finance team. The role requires the ability to work within a team, to work to strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

You will also have:

• Excellent commercial accounting skills
• Excellent communication and the ability to communicate financial information and concepts to stakeholders in common business language rather than “accounting jargon”
• 3+ years of relevant management accounting experience in similar business partner oriented roles
• Strong Excel skills
• Studying towards relevant professional qualification (CA/CPA)
• Tertiary Finance qualification
• Previous experience in a large Finance team
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with all levels within the Partnership
