Due to growth, our client (a CBD-based accounting firm) is expanding the team and seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant to join the team! This is a great opportunity to work with a laid-back team, with career growth opportunities, in a firm that knows how to retain their staff. Utilise your accounts/tax skills and excellent knowledge of MYOB and Xero, to value-add to your client’s businesses! 
  
The position will involve:

Bookkeeping for clients: You will have prior bookkeeping experience, preferably with a portfolio of clients. Managing the bookkeeping needs of the firm’s clients, including AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, journal preparation, BAS, PAYG and preparation of accounts (and more if you have the skills and desire!). This role provides the opportunity to be trained and develop your skills in the tax field as the position will involve a large amount of compliance / tax work. As long as the successful applicant has prior practice experience, this can be taught!
  
Ideal Candidate:

• We are seeking a candidate with prior bookkeeping / tax experience, within an Australian accounting practice
• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service ethic are essential in this position
• Previous experience with Xero is preferred
