Our Dealership Group is a locally owned company with a growing network of Capital Equipment, Commercial & Passenger vehicle dealerships. Our group has experienced significant recent growth and represents some of the most sought after franchise brands in Australia.

We are currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Dealership Accountant to join our team in the Hunter Region and work across two branches. 

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day finance function and the Shared Services team for the business, however,
you will need to be prepared to be a pro-active and hands-on Accountant.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monthly management reporting
  • Ensure all ledgers, sub-ledgers and balance sheet accounts are reconciled
  • Cash flow management including cash flow reporting and forecasting
  • Statutory, legal and regulatory compliance including GST, taxation, superannuation and Payroll tax
  • Assist with preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Management of the company’s floor plan finance
  • Manufacturer/Franchisor reporting
  • Financial Year reporting and the completion of audits
  • Management and Supervision of the Group’s shared services team
  • Assist with the implementation and improvement of company systems and processes

To be considered for this role you'll be:

  • Degree Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 3 years' Automotive Dealership experience.
  • CA/CPA Qualified is preferred.
  • Proficiency in all facets of the dealership financial accounting function
  • Experience in leading and managing a team
  • Highly analytical & organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong business acumen & commercial awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with management, staff and key stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills oral & written (Business).
  • A positive proactive demeanor.
  • IT proficient – Auto IT DMS system would be an advantage
