We are currently seeking a highly motivated Group & Systems Accountant who has a good understanding of accounting principles and knowledge of integrated ERP systems. The position will be based at our Northern Adelaide, Burton office, located approximately 35 minutes from the CBD. This role will be responsible for the preparation of timely and accurate financial information for the group entities and maintaining group financial systems to ensure that all financial information is accurate and compliant. The position reports to the Group Financial Controller based in Burton. The ideal person needs to work as part of a Finance and Information Technology team and must have effective collaboration skills with a “can do” attitude.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of consolidated group financial reports, such as; statutory financial reports, budgets, monthly reporting pack, monthly profit and loss forecast, cash forecasts, worksheet and maintain reconciliations for all elimination entries, financial reports and commentary for corporate business units, monthly translation of international trial balances etc;
- Act as system owner for all financial systems, including the ERP system, expense management system and financial reporting system;
- Maintain work instructions for all financial systems;
- Act as the finance interface for external software consultants and IT department;
- Manage all finance system upgrades, customisations and implementations;
- Provide user training for financial systems and act as the help desk for all financial systems;
- Other support to Group Financial Controller as required.
An ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting and/or Finance (University level);
- Post-Graduate Qualifications in Accounting (CA/CPA);
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a role requiring strong technical accounting and tax knowledge and experience using financial systems;
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities;
- A current Driver’s Licence;
- A good understanding of integrated ERP systems (Navision) will be highly regarded.
