Fixed term opportunity to join our busy Accounts Payable team at Queensland Rail. 6 month fixed term role with possible extension.  Part time arrangement (38 hours per fortnight - 3 days first week, 2 days second week) would be considered.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Maintain Queensland Rail's vendor database by attending to requests from authorised officers to create or modify vendor details.
  • Ensure authenticity of requests and process changes to the vendor master data including additions, deletions and modifications.
  • Co-ordinate and process change of vendor ownerships.
  • Ensure all enquiries are responded to in a timely and efficient manner with commitment to high quality customer service.
  • Participate as an active member of the Accounts Payable team to ensure a co-ordinated, dynamic and consistent approach to the administrative activities undertaken.
  • Ensure integrity of system by periodic review of vendor database.
  • Assist the Manager Accounts Payable with other projects, administrative tasks and duties as required.
  • Ensure Queensland Rail's accounts receivable customer ledger is accurately maintained by performing file maintenance on accounts on an ongoing basis.
  • Liaise with all Queensland Rail's business groups on a continual basis regarding customer credit.
  • Prepare credit evaluation reports on customers using current credit procedures.

To be successful:

  • Substantial knowledge in applying specifications and procedures in establishing and maintaining vendor master data in Queensland Rail's accounts payable system.
  • Substantial knowledge of credit policies and procedures with emphasis on collection of overdue amounts and identification of doubtful debts.
  • Sound knowledge of the relevant legislation governing extension of credit facilities to customers.
  • Substantial knowledge of processes relating to Queensland Rail's (or similar organisation) financial and procurement management systems.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including experience using spreadsheet and word processing software applications.
  • Sound analytical and problem solving skills.

Salary range: $65,964 - $73,633 per annum (experience dependent) + super.
