The Opportunity:

This role is offered as an initial 6 month contract but has a very high likelihood of extension and possible progression to permanent employment. It’s a busy area with broad variety in the work and strong opportunity to stretch and grow in your career.

The Role:

The Project Finance Officer is a key member of the finance team supporting an extremely busy and rapidly growing technology area. The role has day-to-day contact with a broad range of stakeholders and is pivotal to ensuring that sound financial management practices are in place, and that Project Managers keep abreast of their budgets and forecasts. Other key duties include;

• Assist with accounting processes and prepare month end reconciliations, asset accounting and preparation of financial reports;
• Carry out financial analysis and reconciliations as required and communicate accounting information to both accounting and non-accounting staff.
• Assist with budget and forecasting tasks as required
• Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and external stakeholders.
• Undertake general ad-hoc finance duties.
• Continuous business process and framework improvements, including system enhancements.

The Person:

You will be a high performing Management Accountant with strong problem solving skills and excellent interpersonal ability. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and your wider team to develop the financial forecasts and reports for the Division. Experience and skills required for the role include;

• Demonstrated experience in government budgeting processes, including preparing, presenting and advising on budgeting and financial modelling.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (Accounting) or progress towards is highly desirable.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a changing environment;
• Demonstrated liaison, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders through strong verbal and written communication skills.

The Salary:

$45 - $50 per hour + 9.5% super.
