Full Time position
A challenging role has become available within Downer's head office finance team, providing accounting and finance support across all our corporate entities. This highly varied role will support the Finance Manager and will require you to take ownership of all facets of accounting.
Your focus will include;
- Cash book entries
- Intercompany recharges and loan maintenance including interest calculation
- Accruals and prepayments
- Assist the finance team with management of accounts payable, accounts receivables, novated fleet leases, business credit cards
- Assist with fixed Asset register and accounting maintenance
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Monthly GST reporting, and assistance to tax department for FBT reporting
- Month end reporting and expense analysis, including reporting for departmental managers
- Assist with end of year process, and support the Group Finance team with statutory reporting
- Assist with monthly forecasts and annual budget
- Preparation of ABS returns
- Undertake other duties as required by the Corporate Finance Team
About You
·Tertiary level qualifications in Accounting or Commerce with the eligibility to be a Member of a recognised professional accounting body in Australia.
· This position is likely to appeal to a Financial Accountant with at least 3 years exposure within Construction, Manufacturing and Infrastructure or Heavy Engineering sectors.
· You will be proficient in optimising the effective use of the JD Edwards Accounting platform or similar to ensure best practice.
· Well honed analytical and planning skills as well as demonstrated success in being able to prioritise workloads and add value in a team environment.
· Strong service focus with a proactive approach to delivering on time.
· Leadership capabilities and people management skills as well as demonstrated success within a constantly changing environment.
