The Role
Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks within the McDonald Jones Homes group. Tasks will include month-end accounting procedures, financial statement preparation, tax compliance including income, GST and FBT and improving internal systems, policies and procedures. The role will allow you to support and work with various areas of the business, as well as senior management and external accountants and auditors as required.
The Person

This role will ideally suit an outstanding graduate with experience and qualifications in accounting or someone looking for a change from chartered to a commercial accounting role. To be considered for this role you will be either working towards or a qualified Accountant (CA or CPA). Experience in a commercial environment, particularly the construction industry, would be an advantage but is not essential.
You will possess the ability to work in a team environment, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively across the business. You must also share our passion for customer service excellence.
You will also have sound computer skills and preferably have experience with software applications such as Businesscraft and Crystal Reports, along with strong MS Excel and data analysis skills.
