A local well respected industrial organisation, our client provides fully integrated and holistic structural engineering solutions to major clients across Australia and South East Asia. Situated on an expansive industrial area in the Portsmith area of Cairns, the corporation is currently undergoing huge growth. They are now looking to recruit an in house commercial accountant to oversee day to day financial operations of the organisation and work alongside management providing financial advice.

This is a full time permanent position which will see you work alongside a small financial team and work closely with the Administration Manager and divisional team leaders and managers. You will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial information to all stakeholders such as:

- preparing profit & loss statements, analysis and reports
- analysing revenues & expenditures across 6 divisions
- developing budgets for each division
- conducting financial health checks and audits and liaising with external auditors

You will also be responsible for working collaboratively with management to provide financial advice regarding improvements to business operations to reduce costs and improve efficiency across divisions.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will have sound communication skills, have the ability to work with all levels of staff as a team player, and be a strategic thinker with an analytical mindset. Ideally, the role would suit an accountant from a public accountancy background with a minimum of 2-5 years further experience working as a commercial accountant.

In order to be successful for this role you will have a good understanding of MYOB (or any similar accounting package), and the ability to work to deadlines.

You will also be educated to degree level (finance/accounting) and may have CPA/CA qualification.
