The Jewellery Group operates a leading national retail chain with our Head Office based in Adelaide’s CBD. We now have a fantastic opportunity available for an enthusiastic, highly organised and motivated person to join our team as a Financial Accountant. Reporting to Financial Controller, the focus of this role will be to ensure compliance with all monthly reporting, tax obligations and overhead analysis.
This role will include but is not limited to:
- Managing the month end process to ensure compliance with deadlines
- Performing general ledger and account reconciliations
- Ensuring compliance of statutory accounts with all relevant accounting standards
- Responsible for annual audit, tax and liaison with Auditors
- The preparation of the monthly BAS return and comply with statutory documentation
- Maintenance of the fixed asset register
- Managing and assisting the Accounts Payable team
- Assisting with Budgeting and Forecasting
- Monthly Management Reporting with qualitative appreciation notes
- Partner with business and other functions to advise on enhancing efficiency and productivity
- Other various ad-hoc projects as required by the business
- Filing Income Tax and other Statutory Returns within stipulated time frames
- Maintaining open communication and ensuring active collaboration amongst cross-divisional stakeholders
To be considered for this role, the following skills and attributes are required:
- CPA/CA qualified with minimum 5 years post qualification experience
- Strong customer focus due to interaction with business
- Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel skills
- Previous experience working within a retail environment will be highly regarded
- Strong IT and systems skills having work experience in an ERP system.
- Hands-on, excellent communicator, high attention to detail, problem solver, results oriented, pro-active and highly motivated
