ABOUT THE ROLE
  
Reporting to the Head of Business Services, the Head of General Accounting is responsible for ensuring that the group business services function meets its delivery obligations for General Accounting in accordance with agreed service levels, whilst supporting all Finance Transformation and improvement activities.
  
DUTIES

• Support the optimisation strategy for the operational finance functions to ensure ongoing improvements in cost and efficiency.
• Support the Finance Transformation Program to deliver multiple complex projects across end to end Finance processes.
• Lead and support the planning and transition of agreed Accounting activities from the business divisions into the centralised business services function.
• Lead the governance framework/process for General Accounting involving business stakeholders to ensure ongoing value is delivered from the business services model.
• Serve as a close and trusted advisor to the business customer group, providing both strategic advice and direct support on General Accounting matters and informing management of emerging issues and developments.

  
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  

• Experience in the delivery of high volume accounting service activities.
• Qualified CA or CPA.
• Experience within Big 4 or large mid-tier accounting firm highly regarded.
• Ideally experience in delivery of transformational projects in finance including process improvement automation.
• Experience leading and developing medium to large sized teams.
