The company:

This diversified mining business is benefiting from a strong period of growth, and is looking for a temp Asset Accountant to partner with the operations team assist with the asset portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working as part of a team, the successful candidate will be integral in contributing towards continuous improvement in operational, management and financial reporting in order to best support our management team. The role is specifically centered around the financial and KPI reporting of the Group’s mining and ancillary equipment.

• Maintenance Asset Register reconciliation process to the General Ledger
• Prepare monthly management accounts including income statements, KPI and budget variance analysis and facilitate appropriate review meetings with operations and executive management.
• Management and financial reporting for asset management services, including a stand-alone business unit dedicated to the servicing and maintenance of the groups mining and ancillary equipment.
• Capital WIP reconciliation
• Commentary/ explanation around movements
• Disposal of assets
• Impairment testing
• Managing the inventory reporting process

Your profile:

• CA/ CPA qualified.
• Previous experience as an Asset Accountant or extensive experience around complex/ large asset management accounting is desirable. 
• Experience within the mining sector is essential.
• Strong communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders from various backgrounds.
• Experience with Pronto/ SAP essential.
