About the opportunity
In this role you will lead a small team of entity accountants to provide high quality accounting service to the Australasian businesses. You will be responsibility for the accurate and timely preparation and submission of group results to London across ANZ.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
- Work closely with and lead conversations with the BPO as a business partner, to ensure delivery is aligned with expectations
- Owner of the PEC timetable and daily communication during the close process.
- Lead the cash and banking activity across the organisation and be one of the key contacts for the banks
- Responsible for the validation of legal entity accounts for all ANZ companies and the quarterly group account submissions for BP corporate entities
- Leading the financial accounting process for all corporate transactions and performing the required due diligence
- Lead the team as account owners through the number one control process, BSI, to ensure accurate reconciliations in line with group requirements.
- Undertake reporting to analyse key trends i.e. losses and gains and present recommendations for future process improvements
About you
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Tertiary degree qualification in an accounting related discipline and a member of a recognised accounting body; CPA/CA
- Experience in corporate operational and financial functionality and processes within a large corporation and a track record in entity based financial accounting
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders in order to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes, deal with ambiguity, navigate complexity and drive impactful outcomes
- High level problem solving experience and commercial awareness
- Experience in leading and mentoring a small team
