Our client is an ASX Listed market leader focused on innovation and strong company culture.

Position
The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accuracy of accounting records, statutory financial statements, regulatory reporting, tax compliance and accounting and associated reporting for the company Trust and its subsidiaries. This role also is also responsible for preparing the consolidation of the group results.
Specifically, the core accountabilities include:
  • Delivery of timely and accurately monthly consolidated results and accompanying analysis;
  • Delivery of timely and accurately semi-annual statutory consolidated financial statements, including proactively managing the audit process and the preparation and presentation of papers as required;Prepare technical accounting papers in relation to transactions (accounting issues and disclosures) as they arise to support practical commercial solutions;
  • Tax compliance, including tax calculations, tax forecasts, tax returns and GST returns;
  • Delivery of timely and accurately regulatory and compliance reporting;
  • Proactive involvement in other projects, ad-hoc analysis and transactions as required;
  • Proactively identify and drive process improvements, including working with other stakeholders to effect these changes.
  • Establish an appropriate risk culture including a focussed and efficient control environment;
  • Establish appropriate policies and procedures that are fit-for-purpose and ensure activities are conducted efficiently;
  • Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the direct team, Group Finance team and the wider finance team in terms of strategy, development, risk, operations and behaviours
  • Provide honest, regular and ongoing performance feedback to interns and the wider finance team members
Profile
You must be CA/CPA qualified with at lesat 3-5 years experience in a corporate accounting role.  Other key competencies include:
  • Leadership skills and ability to coach and motivate staff and teams across the business
  • Ability to engage and influence at all levels across the organisation and with external advisers
  • Performance orientation - results driven, forward thinking and innovative
  • Proactive approach with a record of improving processes and procedures across finance
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to organise and prioritise tasks and stakeholders to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to remain highly flexible in a changing and demanding environment
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to manage risk
