This is a rare opportunity to join a growing Division of a substantial Melbourne-based enterprise which is recognized as a market leader in competitive and constantly evolving sector. In line with its commitment to growth, the business actively seeks to attract and retain high performing talent and, following a recent promotion, is now looking to appoint a commercially astute Finance Manager to manage and lead a small dedicated team.
Reporting to the National Commercial Finance Lead you will primarily manage, lead and develop your team to ensure that it effectively meets all periodic reporting requirements and supports the day to day running of the business. You will therefore have oversight of all financial operations including financial accounting, month end reporting, consolidated reporting for Group Finance and for all statutory reporting and taxation compliance. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Management Team, acting as a ‘decision support partner’ for a broad range of business-critical issues across financial reporting, business performance reporting, process improvements and financial procedures & controls. You will be a focal subject matter expert for a broad range of stakeholders, using your financial subject matter expertise to add value to operational decisions and using your leadership and influencing skills to continuously improve financial processes, internal controls and business management systems.
This key role is likely to appeal to a qualified CA or CPA who might be seeking to significantly enhance their leadership skills in a commercially oriented, growth focused and evolving workplace culture. You should possess strong technical accounting training, gained either in a substantial professional services firm or a corporate environment where ideally you will have also managed a team. You should be a values-driven team player with a flair for identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities, possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the kind of energy and drive to be effective in broadly mandated team leadership role.
