Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing management accounting services as well as administration services on the project. You will need to be motivated; proactive and highly organised to succeed in the role. In addition, effective social process skills will be critical to provide effective services to various business areas. You will be a capable management accountant, ideally with experience in a project or site based environment.  The role will operate on a Monday to Friday roster.  Relocation and accommodation will be provided. 

Key role tasks:

Management accounting

• Work with project administration team and the Brisbane P2P team to identify and resolve issues on monthly vendor invoices and goods receipts such that costs are incurred and reimbursable within contractual boundaries;
• Prepare the monthly project claim for appropriate authorisation in a timely and accurate manner and compliant with head contractual requirements;
• Work with project leaders and your Manager to prepare monthly cost forecasts as required by the client for approval and submission by the Project General Manger;
• Analyse and report variances in expenditure and production metrics as required to understand and highlight performance variances;
• Assist in the completion of the site Project Workbook and Client Monthly Report such that these are completed in a timely and accurate manner;
• Provide advice, education and coaching to project leaders such that commercial activities on the project are financially informed and consistent;

Vendor management

• Maintain a current vendor register for the project and associated contractual documentation such that vendors are only contracted once approved by the client;
• Provide advice to contract managers and liaise with Golding legal team where appropriate, (take necessary action within your authority) such that vendor contracts are managed effectively;
• Draft contractual communications as required for the Contractor Representative and review Principal Representative communications and advise accordingly

In addition to these, task types below are assigned by your Manager and triggered by the Project Leader:

• Manage the provision of administration services to the Baralaba coal mining project such that the administration function is performed accurately and efficiently.
• Provide support and knowledge around the purchase to pay process within SAP such that administration of procurement is as accurate as possible.
• Attend project management meetings to provide advice to project leaders
• Attend meetings with clients as required by the Site Management Team.

Key capability requirements: 

• Degree in Finance (or equivalent) and CPA/CA qualified
• Management accounting experience within a project business
• Experience in cashflow forecasting and financial modelling
• Hands-on SAP or other ERP application skills and experience
• High level organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload
• High level of analytical, numerical and communication skills
