About the Role

As the Corporate and Finance Director, you will oversee the management of the organisation’s finance and administration functions in the accordance with relevant statutory requirements. You will represent and champion the financial direction of the company and are responsible for delivering successful business and financial strategies.

Duties

• Financial management of the organisation including but not limited to the preparation, coordination and regular revision of the organisations budget;
• Effective integration of systems and management practices, maximising resources and taking advantage of available emerging technology;
• Manage and develop effective and efficient financial reporting systems that allows for sufficient financial control and mitigate risk;
• Manage the external audit for organisation whilst ensuring relevant statutory obligations are met;
• Ongoing development of the organisations financial strategy, including advising the senior executive team;
• Manage all accounting and financial systems and ensure that accurate relevant and timely reporting occurs at all levels;
• Provide strong leadership and direction for staff within the department, ensuring a high level of service delivery, professional development and workplace culture;
• Continuous investigation and review of practices to capitalise and develop sustainable competitive advantages;
• Represent the organisation in an official capacity in negotiations with external agencies to ensure favourable outcomes for the organisation.

Skills & Experience required 

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Financial Management is an essential requirement of the job;
• Accreditation as either an CA or CPA is highly desirable;
• A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in the same or similar role with proven understanding and experience in applications of financial management related to accounting standards, legislation, contemporary financial practices and policies;
• Proven ability to identify, research, assess and implement contemporary financial management tools;
• Proven ability of reviewing financial data and formulating recommendations and reports to management;
• Working knowledge of governance issues and experience in the development policies, procedures and reporting mechanisms;
• High level of proven negotiation skills;

In addition to your financial acumen and proven leadership skills, you will be required to have a well-developed level of interpersonal communication skills with proven ability to network and communicate with external parties including media industry partners.
