JOB

As Sportsbet’s Payroll Master, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our wonderful Sportsbet staff are paid on time and correctly each fortnight. You’ll also take the lead on some projects we’ve got in the pipeline such as single touch payroll and a continuous focus on automation of processes. Your accountabilities will also include:

• Manage the end to end Payroll process, i.e. creating staff records in the payroll system; termination payments and end of financial year processing including payment summaries.
• Processing fortnightly Payroll, PAYE tax, Superannuation,
• Spreadsheet preparation and analysis, while ensuring the accuracy of information flow.
• Accurate data entry.
• Calculate and process all aspects of employee's pays in accordance with awards, agreements, company policies and legislation.
• Timely management of payroll queries
• Processing the payroll journals at each month end
• Timely and accurate preparation of Payroll Reconciliations at each month end
• Ad-hoc month end tasks as required
• Preparation and lodgement of payroll related tax compliance, including;
• Payroll tax returns
• PAYG withholding
• WorkCover
• Processing of year ends
• ESS Statements

IS THIS ROLE FOR ME?

We're looking for someone with strong hands on payroll experience who understands the entire payroll process. Someone tech savvy who will pick up systems quickly, and someone friendly with a helpful 'no worries, I can help' kind of attitude. ‌

• Strong communications skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment

• Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
• Previous experience with Affinity (desirable)
• Demonstrated experience in processing payroll, including the end of financial year processing.
• Demonstrated ability to apply current payroll related legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
• Computer literacy with working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, the internet and payroll
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
• Sound organisational and time management skills, complemented with initiative and enthusiasm.
