The Organisation
The Vincentian Fathers Oceania are part of a worldwide Catholic Religious Congregation established in 1625 by St Vincent de Paul. The Oceania Provincial Office provides administration and other support to around 50 Confreres serving in a variety of ministries, including parishes, social outreach and care for their senior and retired Confreres in locations around Australia, Fiji and the Solomon Islands.
The Role
Reporting to the Provincial Treasurer, you will be accountable for the efficient management and day to day administration of the financial accounting and reporting activities of the Oceania Province, and ensuring Vincentian communities across the Province are provided with efficient and effective support services.
You will be self-motivated, flexible, have a 'hands on' approach and be able to manage all daily operational activities. You will be effective in the management of investments and use best practice in human resource management.
The role would suit an experienced person looking for work-life balance.
Key Requirements
You will ideally possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance and/or Accounting or a discipline relevant to the role or equivalent experience
- Experience ensuring compliance with legislative requirements including WH&S, ATO, ASIC, ACNC, Employment Relations
- Demonstrated background in financial administration, use of accounting packages, MYOB or other related software, lodgement of reports for BAS and ACNC, budget preparation and financial report preparation
- Excellent influencing and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to express complex information and ideas in a simple manner
- Ability to work collaboratively and consultatively across a wide spectrum of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, operate with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality
- Respect for the tradition, philosophy and spirit of the Vincentian Fathers Oceania and a willingness to grow in an understanding of this
