About the role

Football West is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Bookkeeper who is competent in all aspects of Bookkeeping, to join the finance team to fill a maternity leave vacancy. The role is based at our headquarters in Perth.

This position requires an efficient finance professional with the qualifications, skills, energy, focus and experience to support the Finance team.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Accounting – entry of day to day financial transactions
  • Managing the general ledger
  • Month end journals and procedures
  • Cash management functions
  • Accounts payable functions
  • Accounts receivable functions
  • Processing payroll, payroll tax and superannuation
  • Bank reconciliation functions (including petty cash)
  • Invoicing participants, sponsors and funding providers
  • Purchase order management
  • BAS preparation and lodgement
  • Monthly Payroll Tax Return preparation and lodgement
  • Other general tasks as directed by either the Financial Controller or CEO

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Substantive ERP / finance systems experience, with MYOB Advanced preferred.
  • Certificate IV in Bookkeeping (or working towards completing).
  • Accurate data entry skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience in working for a not-for-profit organisation.
  • Detailed knowledge of GST legislation.
  • A mature, hands-on, flexible and efficient attitude.
  • High level of competency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
